Manufacture de Monaco : Porcelaine

We create porcelains in Monaco since 1973.

Inspired by the great mediterranean civilizations, and representing Monaco’s finest in hosting and savoir-vivre.

HISTORY

The Manufacture de Porcelaine de Monaco was founded in 1972 by Erich Rozewicz with the encouragement and support of His Serene Highness Prince Rainier III and Her Serene Highness Princess Grace of Monaco.

Erich Rozewicz was living in France at the time, consulting Porcelain engineer and painting in his free time. When exhibiting his personal work in Paris in 1971, he received an unexpected and improvised visit of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier, which later asked him if he wouldn’t be interested to build a company to manufacture luxury porcelain in Monaco.

From the very beginning, the Manufacture de Monaco has produced luxury quality porcelain distinguished by being very white, hard and translucent. This quality is achieved thanks to the unique skills of specialist craftsmen, and through a very critical selection of each finished article.

The original decorative designs were inspired by the rosettes and mosaics found in the Palace of the Prince, works of art reminiscent of the civilizations of the Mediterranean Sea.Luxurious and refined gift-articles, decorative accessories and, of course, a variety of tableware are appreciated by connoisseurs from all over the world for their unique style.Erich Rozewicz has for ever searched new ways to improve on the quality and beauty of his products. After Erich Rozewicz’s passing in 2000 at the age of 81, his son Joram Rozewicz took charge of the company, having spent many years acquiring his unique savoir-faire. The Manufacture de Porcelaine de Monaco can now look forward to perpetuating its tradition of creating beautiful pieces of porcelain.

In 2006, Joram Rozewicz approached Swarovski to create a new line of table top porcelain exclusively decorated with Swarovski crystals. Pure designs create a contemporary and luxurious environment for a resolutely festive table where porcelain turns into jewelry.

After their immediate success of the first white collections, new patterns with contemporary colors have been added to match with modern living styles. These incredible collections include presentation plates decorated with 1440 crystals each! (Stardust and Crystal Wedding series).

New designs and color combination are added as customers request new ideas.

In 2015, we introduced a new line of 100% hand made tableware, fully customizable in small quantities. The so called M collection was originally intended for the creative Chefs in high gastronomy restaurants who like to present their dishes on equally exceptional dinnerware.

Manufacture de Monaco is appointed purveyor to His Serene Highness the Prince of Monaco, also providing official gifts to the Palace, the Monaco Government and many more.

A retail outlet opened in 1988 in the Metropole Shopping Center in Monte-Carlo. The store carries exclusively Manufacture de Monaco’s porcelain creations and operates bridal registries. Additional brands carried by the shop include European premier names of luxury tabletop, stemware, linen and giftware, including such well-known brands as Fabergé, Moser Cristal, Artel, Valombreuse, D. Porthault, L’Objet, and more.

We also specialize in boat outfitting and interior decoration with custom made tableware, silverware, crystal and embroidered tablecloth.

Muriel & Marc Zanardelli : leather craftsmen in Biot

The Leather Craftsman

“My wish is that every woman can find the bag that suits her and that makes her happy.”

I have the desire to combine aesthetics, comfort and practice by combining shapes, colors, textures of different leathers and contrasts to give my bags “a little more” very current.

Self-taught, it is out of passion for this noble and living material that I came to work on leather. Thus, since July 1982, I draw and realize entirely all my bags and small leather articles.

Leather:

I chose to use full-grain calf leather for its flexibility and performance over the years. These skins used to make the outside of my bags come mainly from Tanneries du Puy (43) and Tanneries Roux (26).
The interior is lined with full grain Pécari leather of European origin.
The seam is made of nylon thread and the metal zippers.

It was in Biot that I found the good professional and family balance that allowed me to create, manufacture, present and sell my work, together with my wife and collaborator Muriel. At first, we had a workshop in different remote places and presented our creations in exhibitions and exhibitions (in Paris and its region, in the south of France and in Artisa Grenoble).

In 1987, we chose to have a workshop-shop, in Castillon, in the Alpes-Maritimes, where I made all the models in front of the visitors and my wife sold them on the spot.

In 2000, we moved to Biot (06), to continue our work of manufacturing and direct sales in our workshop-store. This village on a human scale is ideally located close to Cannes and Nice, between sea and mountains.

My curriculum
Initially: Training of industrial draftsman, a taste of precision, a great curiosity and jobs in various fields (staffor, landscaper etc …)
My path rich in experiences made me aware of materials, shapes, associations of colors.

We manufacture ourselves and manually our bags and other items. These are unique pieces. It can thus slip very slight differences between the images proposed on this site and the models produced. The photos of this site are not contractual.
All our models are registered.

“Le Panier d’Osier” From Nice

An authentic basketry!

The Palais de l’Osier is a real favorite! This is an authentic basketry that has existed in Old Nice for over 100 years, where tote bags, bags, wallets are exposed from floor to ceiling. From the most classic to the most eccentric, all that can be braided is there. Impossible not to find the one that will accompany you this summer. And there, no dilemma, it’s the bag and the holidays!

Florian : Confiserie and Chocolaterie in Nice

HISTORY AND TRADITION

Founded in 1949, the Confiserie Florian in the Gorges du Loup sits in a breathtaking setting along the banks of the Loup river, in the lower hills of Grasse’s beautiful backcountry. Decorated with antique furniture from the South of France dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, both Confiserie Florian locations, Nice and Le Pont du Loup, are a blend of tradition, refinement, and taste. The quality of our products was honored in 1972 when we received the Coupe d’Or du Bon Goût Français, the “Gold Cup of French Good Taste.”

Encouraged by this flourishing success and after buying the famed Florian brand, Confiserie Florian in the Nice Old Town opened its doors in 1974 on Nice’s old port, the original home of the former Florian chocolate factory, well known to the people of Nice and the celebrated painter Matisse.

CANDIED FRUITS

Both Confiserie Florian locations are in one of the most beautiful regions of France: the French Riviera. Throughout the year, the Confiserie Florian hosts visitors from around the world, giving them the chance to discover the sweet, wonderful world of our candied specialties from the South of France. During our free guided tours in five languages, you can witness the transformation of the region’s best fruits and most beautiful flowers into confectionery products. In wintertime, you’ll see us making citrus jams, hand-dipping orange peel into a variety of chocolates, and the glazing process for our candied fruits.

CRYSTALLIZED FLOWERS

February through August is when we work with violets, the Tango rose, jasmine, and verbena, changing them into delicious crystallized flowers, leaves, or flower jams, all unique natural wonders for any sweets lover. Year round, you can watch us creating our homemade chocolates, caramels, and hard candies with the flavors of Provence. Each tour is followed by a free tasting and our vast array of specialties is available for purchase, should you so desire, at special factory prices.

Chateau of Cremat

It was around 250 BC that the Greeks, following a military victory over the Ligurians, created Nikaia, the future Nice, and introduced viticulture to this part of the Mediterranean. It is the Romans who, creating there an important military chief town implant the current vineyard with the one of the garrisons, on Via Julia Augusta. It is there, along the future road of Crémat, that they dig two imposing galleries of more than 50 meters each to store the wine and the olive oil.

In 1902 a prosperous merchant from Nice, Antoine Mari, rediscovered these famous perfectly preserved galleries. Once again, they will serve wine cellars at the large building he will build above all while hitching up to replant the vineyard. Thus born the Castle of Cremat.

In the 1920s it became the property of Mrs. Irene Bretz, a rich American who began major development work to turn the castle into a mundane place. It will give great festivals or rub shoulders artists, wealthy families and crowned heads of Europe come spend the winter on the French Riviera.

In the 30s the castle is ceded to Pierre Thome. He will develop the vineyard, create and chair the winegrowers’ union of Bellet in whose name he will ask the A.O.C in 1937. that he will finally get on November 11, 1941.

At the end of the war the Château is taken over by Jean Banis, who in turn will work to develop the winery and perfect the quality of the wines, then yield the castle to advertising Jean-Pierre Pisoni.

But the real renaissance of the castle will occur in 2000. It is bought by a Dutch couple, Germila and Cornelis Kamerbeck, wine lovers fall in love with the French Riviera. The latter will enroll even at the University of Suz La Rousse to acquire the knowledge necessary to achieve his dream; become a winemaker. From then on, enormous works are undertaken with notably the construction of an ultra-modern cellar just next to Roman galleries which, from now on, will receive the barrels where the wines are raised. At the same time, Corneils Kamerbeck will transform the vineyard into an entirely organic A.O.C. Finally the castle will be completely rehabilitated and a French garden of more than 2000 m2 will be planted in ornament in the middle of chiselled towers and ramparts of neo-Tuscan style.

In 2013 he joined forces with Olivier Bettati and launched the construction of a 300 m2 orange grove where star chefs realized and revisited the Niçoise cuisine for weddings, art exhibitions, concerts, galas dinners and other tastings. rare wine. As at the beginning of the last century, the magic of the festivals of the French Riviera operates again at the Château de Crémat.

Night market in Nice

Night market

If the Cours Saleya is famous for its diurnal market, held almost daily, and the delicious accents of Provence and Italy, we also love his night market. No fruits and vegetables here, but a vast selection of original products. All premises are local, but here you can find creations for artisans, some regional souvenirs, and artistic compositions for example. Whatever it is, a pleasant atmosphere for a digestive walk in particular.

At the same time producer with more than 60 hectares of estates on the Côte d’Azur in organic farming, mill with 2 mills but also confectioner of olives, our house perpetuates an ancestral know-how in order to produce but also to select unique varieties .
In fact, this dual know-how of producer and miller brings us a high degree of demand for our signature vintages. From a rigorous selection of the best European terroirs, these wines are made only in collaboration with producers selected for the quality of their fruits.

PIOT FAMILY
OWNER OF THE HOUSE ALZIARI

In the 90’s, the Piot family bought the last olive oil mill in Nice from the Alziari-Nègre family. The company Alziari, then a miller trading since 1868, will become under the influence of the Piot family one of the most important oil house in France. The family bringing a new job in the house to know that of producer.

THE MILL

They use the “Genoese” method, of which we are one of the last defenders in Europe. After a slow grinding of the olives for two to three hours, the stone basin is filled with cold water; the olive oil on the surface is immediately recovered to be decanted. The rest of the pulp will be placed in the scourtins (coconut fiber filters) to be pressed. This is called the first cold press. The mill runs between November and March. They organize tasting workshops and guided tours.

THE BOUTIQUE DU MOULIN 318 Boulevard de la Madeleine

Placed under the family home for convenience and located on the site of the mill, this shop has always existed. Still decorated with many period furniture and traditional objects, it is the joy of the inhabitants of the neighborhood who, children, already came to nibble some olives.

THE BOUTIQUE OF OLD NICE 14, Rue François de Paule

It was in 1932 that the family decided to open a shop in Old Nice. The oil from the horse-drawn mill was daily lowered to supply the tin-iron drums of the little shop. Despite the years, the small universe of thirty square meters has remained an island of authenticity. It has become a must for lovers of local products.

DOMAINS

They operate several estates with thousands of olive trees in the heart of the French Riviera. With more than 60 hectares, our house has become the largest producer in the region *.

The work is done all year round, mainly by hand in terraces (hillside boards). They have been using products from organic farming for years; because one can not conceive of cultivating a secular tree without thinking of future generations.

For some of our best wines, they also work with other areas in Europe to offer fans, wines of incomparable finesse and a unique signature. To taste an olive oil Alziari, it is to offer an unforgettable Mediterranean parenthesis.
