Villa Les Camélias

Located in Cap d’Ail in a Belle Epoque property, this museum allows the public to discover the archives of Cap d’Ail since the time of its creation, in 1908, and throughout the twentieth century. The art of living, the development of the town and the famous people who frequented it are all themes addressed in the exhibition.
Another part of the museum is devoted to a Basque painter of the beginning of the century: Ramiro ARRUE. Many works of the artist invite to discover the different aspects of his work and his love of the Basque Country.

GARDEN
In this intimate and shady garden, more or less wild, discover more young olive trees alongside centennial carob trees, mimosas, a young Ginko biloba, Judas trees, bougainvilleas, camellias and also fragrant jasmine. Take time and see the neighboring irises with tomatoes, rose bushes flirting with salads, acanthus and agapanthus, pelargoniums and potatoes and many other flowers with complicated names. Some fruit trees, white and pink laurels and citrus fruits complete the decor. Sit at the foot of the tall pines to listen to the cicadas and witness the rebirth of our phoénix.

National Museum Fernand Léger

Bringing together a unique collection of paintings, ceramics and drawings, the Musée National Fernand Léger’s collection allows everyone to discover this major avant-garde artist, from his cubist researches to the large, colorful compositions of the 1950s.

Contrasts in form and dynamism of color evoke the rhythm of the machine, the poetry of objects and the beauty of the great modern city.
At the foot of the village of Biot, in a Mediterranean park, the museum offers visitors a rich program of exhibitions, cultural activities (educational workshops, screenings, conferences, etc.) and audio guides in 7 languages . The garden refreshment bar, open from May to October, offers a pleasant setting to refresh after the visit.

1960, the creation of the museum
On the evening of May 13, 1960, an exceptional event inaugurates the Fernand Léger museum in Biot. More than five thousand guests flock to the opening of the first monographic museum in the region. Under the patronage of Picasso, Braque and Chagall, the inauguration brings together celebrities from the literary and artistic world, film stars and political representatives. The Fernand Léger Museum marks with its seal the cultural landscape of the time.
Not far from Biot, other projects devoted to the great figures of modern art materialize soon after: in Saint Paul, the Maeght Foundation in 1964 and in Nice the Marc Chagall museum in 1969.

1969, the donation to the State
In 1969, the founders donated to the French State building, land and a rich collection of more than three hundred works. André Malraux, Minister of State in charge of cultural affairs, receives the donation during an official event which ends with a gala organized at the Palais de Cannes festival. The Léger museum becomes a national museum and according to the clauses of the donation, the founders remain directors for life.

1987-1990, the extension of the building
In 1987, the museum was enlarged and studied and built by the Ministry of Culture by architect Bernard Schoebel. A new building wing doubles the exhibition area. On the east and west facades of the new building, Georges Bauquier commissioned Heidi Melano to make monumental mosaics based on Léger’s plans for La Triennale di Milano (1951) and for the decoration of the University of Caracas (1954).
Georges Bauquier retired as director in 1994.

2004-2008, the modernization of spaces
Renovation works began in 2004. The architect Marc Barani is in charge of the work to restructure the exhibition spaces and improve the reception of the public. The furniture is entrusted to Eric Benqué and the garden landscaping Philippe Déliau. This new layout allows a better presentation of the permanent collection. In a chronological clash rich in masterpieces, the visitor travels the whole life of Fernand Léger.

Lérins Islands

The Lérins islands form a French archipelago located in the Mediterranean, in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, on the Côte d’Azur.

They are administered by the municipality of Cannes which are not constitutive, associated with the Suquet, one of the ten administrative districts. Located southeast of the tip of the Croisette, not far from the city, they separate the Gulf of Napoule, west of the Gulf of Juan, to the east.

The archipelago consists of two large islands: to the north, Sainte-Marguerite, the largest, famous for its fort which shelters the man with the iron mask, and to the south, Saint-Honorat, smaller, known for its monastery Each of these main islands is frequented by an island of dwellings, that of Tradelière and the islet Saint-Ferréol. The archipelago also includes a rock called Îlot, located at the southern end of Saint-Honorat, which brings to five the number of Lerins islands.

Hippodrome of the Côte d’Azur

Taken over by the Barbossi Domaine in March 2008, its loving new owners have given the place a makeover transforming this exceptional site into a true jewel on the French Riviera. Nestled in lush greenery in the heart of the Bay of Cannes Mandelieu, this golf course is an oasis of calm and a veritable outdoor museum. Grown in the Alpes-Maritimes in the foothills of the Esterel, associated with Mediterranean climate and maritime influences, the Barbossi Domaine wines derive their character from the richness and diversity of its soils. The bedrock of the vineyard, Rhyolite, which gives the red colour to the Esterel, the clay and sandy loam soils and the use of excellent grape varieties (Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Rolle, Chardonnay and Muscat Petit Grain, Clairette) are the ingredients of our high quality wines, full bodied and fruity.

Aged 1 to 35 years and grown exclusively in the traditional method, the vines spread out over 10 hectares. With excellent sunshine which allows the grapes to be rich in sugar, in the proximity of the sea and typical Esterel vegetation that bring freshness and acidity, the Barbossi Domaine offers reds, rosés and whites reflecting the personality of this unique site.

Jean de GALIMARD lived in GRASSE in 1747 where he created PARFUMERIE GALIMARD.
Founder of the corporation of Glovemakers and Perfumers,   Jean supplied the court of Louis, the well-beloved, King of France, with olive oil, pomades and perfumes from which he developed the first formulas. Since perfume was used to scent the fashionable gloves, the industries literally grew together hand in hand.

Jean de Galimard was Lord of SERANON and related to the Count of Thorenc. For over 266 years, PARFUMERIE GALIMARD has been following the same traditions as its renowned founder and currently uses the very processes which made its name famous.

As in the past, our source is the natural resources of Grasse:  jasmine, rose, lavender, orange flower, and tuberose…… all from which we obtain our rich scents. Only the use of traditional methods can guarantee the materials incomparable fine quality.

Free guided tours – 365 days a year

Visit the traditional factory in the world’s capital of perfume where under the guidance of our hostesses, you’ll discover the magnificent collection of museum pieces as well as the antique production equipment.
The visit will lead you through the laboratory and the conditioning room where the origins of perfume can be traced. A thorough explanation of the extraction methods of aromatic raw materials, flowers, plants, and aromatic woods is given.
You will also discover the work place or organ of the composer of perfumes, called the Nose, and some of his or her secrets will be revealed to you.

Finally, you will have the opportunity to visit the shop where our quality product line with a wide selection of gifts and samples will be offered at factory prices. Select from perfumes and eau de toilettes, eau de colognes, soaps, cosmetics, sachets, bath products and more.

Here Parfumerie Galimard invites you to its old Distillery of La Source Parfumée.
This is the location where they treat alpine flowers taken from the heart of nature and obtain the finest essences like lavender, orange tree, genista, and thyme.

PERSONAL PERFUME CREATION WORKSHOP IN GRASSE

Create your own perfume at “Le Studio des Fragrances”.Galimard recently opened the door to the Mysterious Art of Parfum which had always been closed to the public. Experience the magic of the parfum creation with the experts.
You have no doubt dreamed of the day you would find your own personal fragrance. One scent that is exclusively your signature brand. The scents and smells that will remind you of fond memories like people, places and things which seduced you or continue to seduce you. A scent uniquely “you “, one that will distinguish you and your personal fashion or style.In our “Studio des Fragrances “, our “Nose ” will transform you into a creator of perfume.
Galimard has been the pioneer and recognized leader in this art since launching its first Studio des Fragrances in 1997.

You will discover the different base products and techniques combined to create your own personal fragrance using over 127 notes.
Our nose will explain to you the architecture of a good perfume, that is Top Note (peak note), Middle Note (heart note), and Base Note (fond note).  The experts will evaluate your unique olfactory sensitivities and explain the classifications of the large families of scents along with their typical components. Then, he or she will conclude by describing the basic principles of achieving a harmonious, round formula.
You will then be free to execute your concept and follow your imagination for your own perfume. You will be able to choose to create a fragrance for Women, Men, or unisex.
  • Then, you will take your creation home in a personalized perfume bottle with the name you have chosen for your design.
    Each of these newly created perfumes or formulas will be kept on file for you to re-order. Please ask about creating a layered line of personalized products such as body cream and shower gel.
  • The “Studio des Fragrances” is open every day by appointment.
  • Workshop start at 10:00, 14:00 and 16:00.

The workshops are open to all, and are accessible to children over 8 years old.
For children, the presence of an adult is recommended, as a creator (at a nearby organ) or as an accompanying person.

THE GOLF CLUB

Founded in 1993, the Royal Mougins Golf Club is a course of exceptional quality. Designed by world-famous American architect, the late Robert von Hagge, the par 71, 18-hole course extends for 6,004 m through a lush, wooded vale.

The course is located in the Mougins area, just 10 minutes from Cannes. The majority of the course stretches across the secluded “Vallon de l’Oeuf”, surrounded by peaceful countryside with olive trees and ancient stonewall terracing, preserving the traditional Provençal character of the land.

A game of precision

Good course management and precision play are the two essential elements if you are looking for good results on this rolling course, with its rivers and lakes, and often surrounded by bunkers. Every poor shot is immediately penalised. Choose your club wisely, both in the teeing areas and on the fairways.

A sustainable maintenance programme

The Royal Mougins Golf Club, supported by the GEO (Golf Environment Organization), has developed an environmentally responsible maintenance programme. Mr Rattan Chadha

The Royal Mougins Golf Club has been owned by Rattan Chadha, founder of the brand MEXX, since 2003.The sole shareholder, over a period of two years he invested in the golf course and in the redecoration of the Club House and its surroundings. In 2006, building began on the 29-suite hotel complex and the Royal Spa, situated close the the Club House and occupying part of the 19th century ‘old farmhouse’, just below the 1st Tee. The project was completed and unveiled in May 2008.

Nestled in the heart of the Royal Mougins Golf Resort, our Spa is both a cocoon and a temple of beauty. In an intimate setting, it offers a range of treatments and scents dedicated to “Well-being”. This haven of serenity offers quality infrastructures perfect for relaxing, including a hammam, a sauna, a spa, a relaxation room, an outdoor swimming pool and a jacuzzi. After the relaxation offered by the relaxation room, Cinq Mondes massages and treatments are provided in one of our individual cabins or in the Duo cabin for a relaxing moment alone or with your partner.
