Le Plongeoir

The famous rock planted in the middle of the waves, became at the end of the 19th century the base of a majestic fishing boat, where you could, at the Belle Époque, eat and drink tea perched at a little over six meters above the water. This restaurant connected to a charming kiosk, typical of this time on the Riviera, quickly became an emblematic site of the city of Nice.

In 1941, the fishing boat having suffered damage, the architect René Livieri and his client decided to give a new life to this place by giving birth to the Plongeoir, created instead of the kiosk on the first rock and its restaurant beach.
After the closure of the beach restaurant, the diving board was abandoned but kept a large place in the heart of Nice and his profile was still part of the cultural heritage of the city.
Today, the restaurant Le Plongeoir strives to revive this unusual place in respect of its history and its natural charm.

Located in an emblematic site of Nice, placed on the sea, the restaurant welcomes you in this unusual place, full of history on the diving board and on the rock.

They offer a friendly cuisine, Mediterranean inspired, evolving with the seasons and products from the market.
